My new solo performance installation The Ballad of Skinny Lattes and Vintage Clothing (which premieres in the summer of 2012) has been awarded a research and development grant by Arts Council England. The Ballad is a “noise opera” about globalisation and its effect on our high streets… Its’ intent is both humorous and confrontational, as it charts the rise of The Revolutionary Middle Classes as the “artistic vanguard” of Wall Street and the corporate hedge funds.

Other funding bids are still pending, so more details about the project will follow before the end of February. Expect a crowd funding pitch in your mailbox soon!

Minute of Listening is a creative learning project through which Sound and Music hopes to enable every child in the country to gain access to a huge diversity of music and sound and, for sixty seconds each day, to focus on the richness and enjoyment of the act of listening.

I am very proud to be a part of this, as listening is such an important part of my own practice.

Bobby America is a survivor and a former star of the Warhol Factory. Bobby is a talk radio host, and he would like to talk to YOU about his mentor, Andy. Be part of this unique role play with performer and sound artist Joseph Young and tell us what you make of Warhol and his work. The recorded interviews will be published online. Myself and Peter Faulkner, in our role as artist/agitators The Neo-Futurist Collective, have been invited to contribute work for an ambitious site-specific performance at the former Commonwealth Institute building in Kensington High Street.

Fruit for the Apocalypse are producing the work for World Listening Day, after last year’s successful East London Soundscapes; supported by the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea, as part of their InTRANSIT festival..

I have been invited to be part of the Interpretation Team at the De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill. This beautiful modernist icon of a building is one of my favourite galleries, so I am delighted to be part of the team that will be delivering courses and events for the local community in response to the exhibition and live programme.
